Bug a Pest control – Terms and Conditions
1. Our Contract with You
1.1 These are the Terms & Conditions under which Bug a Pest control provides pest control services to you.
1.2 By accepting our estimate or booking an appointment, you agree to these Terms & Conditions, which form a binding contract between you and Bug a Pest control. If any part of these Terms is unclear or unacceptable, please contact us immediately.
**2. Providing Pest Control Services**
2.1 Bug a Pest control reserves the right to refuse service at our discretion.
2.2 We may require certain information before commencing work, such as proof of identity or property ownership, to ensure we have the authority to perform the requested services. If you are a tenant, it is your responsibility to secure permission from your landlord before booking services.
2.3 While we strive to complete services promptly, the timeline depends on the nature and scope of the pest control services required. Recon Pest Control will not be liable for delays due to factors beyond our control.
2.4 We may request specific details about the pest issue before providing an estimate. If the information provided is incomplete or inaccurate, the service duration may extend, and additional charges may apply.
2.5 Bug a Pest control is not responsible for any loss or damages caused by delays or non-attendance at appointments due to circumstances beyond our control.
**3. Problem with Services**
3.1 We guarantee our work for one month following treatment, provided that our instructions regarding the treatment are followed. The guarantee does not apply if damage is caused by misuse, neglect, or fair wear and tear.
3.2 If you identify any defects in our service, please contact us promptly and allow us an opportunity to resolve the issue within a reasonable time frame. We will do our best to fix the problem as soon as possible.
3.3 These Terms & Conditions do not affect your statutory rights under consumer protection laws.
**4. Price and Payment**
4.1 Prices quoted exclude VAT unless specified otherwise.
4.2 Our pricing includes labor and necessary materials, such as pesticides or traps.
4.3 Once work has commenced, no discussions or disputes over the agreed price will be entertained, except in cases where additional labour or materials are required.
4.4 Domestic customers: Payment is due immediately upon completion of the service.
4.5 Estimates are subject to change if unforeseen conditions require additional labour or materials.
**5. Cancellations and Refunds**
5.1 Customers can cancel a booking within 14 days, provided work has not begun. Once work starts, cancellation will result in charges based on the percentage of the work completed (40% after one treatment, 80% after two treatments, and 100% upon completion).
5.2 Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment time will result in a 50% charge of the treatment cost.
5.3 Failure to provide access at the agreed time may incur a call-out charge of £70.
**6. Access and Parking**
6.1 The customer is responsible for ensuring transparent access to the property and preparing it as instructed before treatment. Failure to do so may result in a cancellation or reschedule fee.
6.2 Any parking or toll charges incurred during the service will be added to the bill. If applicable, permits must be provided.
**7. Liability**
7.1 Bug a Pest controll will not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury except in cases where negligence directly results in personal injury or death.
7.2 Liability for consequential losses, such as loss of profits or business, is expressly excluded.
7.3 Bug a Pest control is not responsible for damage caused by pests before, during, or after treatment.
**8. Call-Out and Re-Treatment**
8.1 A call-out fee may be charged if we cannot access the premises or if no treatment is needed due to the misidentification of pests.
8.2 Re-treatments, where necessary, will be arranged and carried out as per the agreed service plan.
**9. Force Majeure**
9.1 Bug a Pest control is not liable for delays or cancellations due to circumstances beyond our control, such as adverse weather, strikes, or equipment failure.
**10. Complaints**
10.1 Any complaints must be submitted in writing via email to contact@bug-a-pestcontrol.co.uk within 28 days of the event. We will investigate and respond within seven working days.
10.2 the complaint may be escalated to relevant industry bodies or authorities if not resolved.
**11. Data Protection**
11.1 All personal data collected during bookings will be stored securely per the Data Protection Act. We will not share your data with third parties without your consent unless required by law.
**12. Changes to Terms**
12.1 Bug a pest control reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions as needed. Any changes will be posted on our website, and you will be subject to the terms in effect at the time of your booking.
**13. Specific Treatment Disclaimer and Potential Damages**
13.1 **General Pest Treatments:**
During pest treatments, especially when accessing areas such as cupboards, lofts, or attics, there may be some dirt or disturbance to the property. While our team will make reasonable efforts to clean up after completing the treatment, we are not obligated to leave the area in its original condition, and some minor mess may remain.
13.2 **Wet Spray Treatments (Indoor):**
For treatments involving wet sprays indoors, there is a possibility that small puddles or wet spots may form during the application process. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the area is dried upon re-entering the property to avoid potential damage. Bug a Pest control will not be held liable for any damage caused by such puddles, including but not limited to water damage to wood strips, laminate flooring, cupboards, furniture, or any other part of the property.
13.3 **Exclusion of Liability for Damages:**
Bug a Pest control is not liable for any claims related to damages arising from the normal course of pest control treatments, including, but not limited to:
– Damage to wood strips, laminate floors, or other flooring
– Damage to cupboards, furniture, or other fixtures
– Marks or stains from treatments used, particularly wet sprays or pesticides
By accepting our services, you acknowledge and accept the potential risks associated with these treatments, and waive any right to claim damages in relation to the points outlined above.
**14. Governing Law**
14.1 These Terms & Conditions are governed by English law. Both parties agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
